Anxiety, OCD & Medication Concern?

Hello everyone, I am 21 years old and I’m a student who is currently attending at University. Since October I started to experience “intrusive-thoughs” and anxiety. Since then I have overcame most of the intrusive thoughts and anxiety. The thoughts I have experienced are such as; What if I kill someone? What if I am gay? (I am straight and I have a girlfriend – never ever had any sexual desire for men in my life), etc. Presently, rarely do they occur anymore – I exercise regularly and eat healthy. I have had a rough year. So I am just wondering, I don’t want to take any medication and what are the natural ways to heal it? And is it a life-long condition?

Anxiety is a way of the brain to alert you to pending confrontation or disaster. Intrusive thoughts are just thoughts you are not comfortable with. I hope this helps because once you know what they are you can mitigate the sources so that you won’t go on “high alert” over things that are probably little issues.

120 Club – Living the Good Life for 120 Years: Health and Vitality in an Age of Transformation

$18.59

The 120 Club – Living the Good Life for 120 Years By Philip Rose In his book, The 120 Club – Living the Good Life for 120 Years Phil Rose wants us to imagine that living to 120 years is possible. He imagined this long before consulting the longevity experts, many of whom had reached the same conclusion: living to 120 is the natural life span for humans. In The 120 Club – Living the Good Life for 120 Years Phil Rose presents his “Ten Wisdoms” for living a balanced and rational life. His ideas stand in contrast to much of what is out of balance in our world. In addition to the more widely accepted and discussed areas of nutritional supplements, diet, and exercise, Phil Rose’s program of “ten wisdoms” includes an in-depth analysis of: Learning effective and practical ways to reduce stress and heal emotional hurts.Managing money and finding meaningful work.Living “outside the box” through personal creativity and play.Enjoying the rewards and inner peace of an authentic spiritual life.Participating in the essential healing powers of Mother Earth.Gaining and keeping long time friendships alive.Using alternative healers and Western doctors to repair and heal the body.Experiencing personal power to transform the world. The 120 Club – Living the Good Life for 120 Years is not a quick-fix book but one that is meant to accompany you over a lifetime. There is no pre-requisite to join The 120 Club other than the total and joyful decision to transform your now long and healthy life. “The 120 Club is THE survival manual for this century”Bob Bodgan – Professor of Sociology and Education – Syracuse University “There are books aplenty that urge us to fix the world and as many that guide us in healing the body and soul. In these pages Phil Rose wisely shows that to be fully alive is to be fully engaged spiritually, politically, and personally. Read on, live well, live long.”Jack Manno – Executive Director of the Great Lakes Research Consortium and author of Privileged

Ray McCreary is a Vietnam vet, just forty, with inclinations—startling to himself—to settle down, marry the woman he thinks he loves, and have a child. He sets out on a journey to seek a kind of closure with a past lover and with Bullet, the buddy who got him through the war but who can’t shake a lingering agitation. Not sure where he’s going or what he’ll find when he returns to the old Virginia schoolhouse he shares with Vivian, Ray is nonetheless driven into one last round of adventure, a quest for what he might be missing or what he might want to give up. With an eye for natural and human hazards—copperheads and buffalo, the violence of men who never find their place, the shadow of the war—Sydney Blair captures perfectly the eternal despair of some vets, the slow healing of others, in this moving novel.Author Biography: Sydney Blair lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she is an associate professor of creative writing at the University of Virginia. She received the Virginia Prize for Fiction for Buffalo in 1991.

Human Interaction with Machines: Proceedings of the 6th International Workshop held at the Shanghai JiaoTong University, March 15-16, 2005

$7.64

The International Workshop on “Human Interaction with Machines” is the sixth in a successful series of workshops that were established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Technische Universität Berlin. The goal of those workshops is to bring together researchers from both universities in order to present research results to an international community. In human interaction with machines we can distinguish two essential research directions. The first one is what is mostly described by “Usability” i.e. how should future devices like cellular phones or telecommunication services be used. A more intuitive access using e.g. natural language is required so that users do not have to study bulky manuals. The second one is where persons get directly into contact with machines like e.g. robots or medical devices. In this field two aspects are important. Machines cooperating with persons or being in close contact with persons should be safe so that even in the case of failures nobody is injured. The question is how to control such machines. All those aspects are covered in this workshop as e.g.:• Observation of systems behavior• Multi-modal User-Interfaces• Self-healing Software• Machine Learning• Brain-Computer Interfaces• Human-machine interaction• Multi-modal machine attention.
